The Enugu High Court ruled in favor of the Chairman of BLord Group, Nigeria’s bitcoin trading giant, Linus Williams Ifejika, aka Blord, who sued the anti-graft agency for impounding his cars and properties after he was wrongfully arrested for internet fraud on August 31, 2020, in what seems to be a landmark win for cryptocurrency vendors in their recurring tussle with EFCC in the first week of May.

Blord announced his legal victory on Instagram, writing, “I finally defeated and deflated @officialefcc in Federal High Court.” My vehicles and property have been released to me. I never imagined challenging the federal government at my age, but I have to fight for what is mine. This shows the way the Nigerian legal system works.”

Few expected anything good was going to come from a legal battle with the EFCC in 2021 when the bitcoin trader chose to sue the anti-graft agency.

But, after 15 months, he emerged victorious from the courts and declared his victory on his Instagram page on May 7, 2022.
